Getting Started
How do I get started with VoltPay?
Request an invite from our team, then use your invite code to create an account. Add your website under Dashboard → Websites, create an API key under Developers, and set your webhook URL in Developers → Webhooks.
How do I test my integration?
There is no sandbox and there are no test API keys: every API key creates real payments. To test end to end, create one real $1 payment with your API key and complete it, use the "Send test" button in Developers → Webhooks to check that your endpoint verifies the signature and answers HTTP 200, and call GET /api/payments/:paymentId/status to confirm the final status.
How long does it take to go live?
There is no separate test environment to graduate from: once your account and website are set up, your API key creates real payments. Your account manager confirms which payment methods are enabled for you.
Payments
Which payment methods are supported?
Checkout can offer cards, digital wallets, local bank and payment apps, and crypto. The methods a customer sees depend on the methods enabled for your account, their country, the amount and their device. Your account manager confirms which methods are enabled for you.
How do I handle failed payments?
FAILED means an attempt did not go through, not that the payment is closed. The customer can retry, and a PAID webhook can still arrive later, sometimes hours or days afterwards. Only PAID is final: always credit it, even after FAILED or CANCELLED.
What happens if a payment is pending?
Pending payments are awaiting confirmation. PENDING and PROCESSING are not sent as webhooks; you receive a webhook when the payment becomes PAID or FAILED. Use GET /api/payments/:paymentId/status to check it in the meantime.
Payment Methods & Routing
How are payment methods enabled for my account?
Payment methods are enabled by our team during onboarding. Some methods need an additional review of your business or website before they can be switched on. Contact your account manager to request a method.
Do I need to integrate each payment provider separately?
No. You integrate once with the VoltPay API, and routing between payment providers is handled by the platform.
What if a provider is down?
VoltPay monitors provider availability. If a payment method is unavailable, checkout offers the customer the remaining methods enabled for your account.
Payouts & Settlements
How do I request a payout?
Payouts are sent in USDT to the address on file for your account. Payout timing is arranged with your account manager, and Dashboard → Balances shows what is available to withdraw and your payout history.
What are the payout processing times?
Timing is agreed with your account manager. The status of each payout is shown in Dashboard → Balances.
Are there payout fees?
Payout fees depend on your merchant agreement. Contact your account manager for the fees that apply to your account.
Can I schedule automatic payouts?
Not from the dashboard. Payout timing is agreed with your account manager.
Security & Compliance
How is my data protected?
Traffic to our API, dashboard and checkout is encrypted in transit with TLS. Card data is handled per PCI DSS requirements, and access to merchant data is restricted by role. See our Security page for details.
How do you handle personal data?
VoltPay processes personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. To request access to, correction of or deletion of your data, contact support.
How do I verify webhook authenticity?
All webhooks include an X-Webhook-Signature header with HMAC-SHA256 signature. Verify this signature using your webhook secret to ensure webhooks are from VoltPay.
Troubleshooting
My API requests are failing with 401 Unauthorized
Verify your API key is correct, active and not expired (after a rotation, the previous key stops working within 24 hours). Send it in the Authorization header as Authorization: Bearer <API_KEY>.
Webhooks are not being received
Check that your webhook URL is publicly accessible, does not redirect, and returns HTTP 200, 201, 202 or 204 within 20 seconds, and that the endpoint is not paused. Use "Send test" and the delivery history in Developers → Webhooks. Note that only PAID and FAILED are sent as webhooks; pending payments and unpaid expiries are not.
Payment is stuck in PENDING status
Pending status means the payment is awaiting confirmation. This usually resolves within minutes, but some payment methods take longer. A payment that is never completed expires, and a late PAID can still arrive after that.
